The Macphail Woods Ecological Forestry Project is situated on the Sir Andrew Macphail Homestead in Orwell, just up the road from the Orwell Corner Historic Village. It's about a twenty minute drive out from Charlottetown on the Trans Canada Highway heading towards Wood Islands.

We now have a program for older students!

Macphail Woods is continually improving its summer programs. All four of our week-long summer environmental educational programs are now geared towards a smaller age range, in order for participants to have the best experience possible. We understand that this may cause a problem for families with children of different ages and will try to make accommodations as much as possible.

Topics will include birds, forests, wildflowers, soil, amphibians, water, mammals and a wide variety of nature activities. Activities will take place in the Macphail Woods Nature Centre and make full use of the nursery, trails and waterways.

We may also be adding additional programs if there is interest and if we have sufficient staff. Keep an eye on our web site for any changes.

THE WEEK OF JULY 11-15: Ages 13-15 years old
THE WEEK OF JULY 25-29: Ages 6-8 years old
THE WEEK OF AUGUST 8-12: Ages 8-10 years old
THE WEEK OF AUGUST 22-26: Ages 10-12 years old

Call Eric at 651-2575 to register. The cost for a week-long program is $60.00. We are trying to keep our prices affordable so that all children have an opportunity to learn about nature. If you would like to help our program grow, we offer charitable receipts for all donations.
