Red-breasted nuthatch. Beth Hoar

A stroll through the Macphail Woods in winter time is exciting for birdwatching. Many species that breed further north, use PEI as their wintering grounds. For others, some years they may be plentiful in numbers and sparce the next winter.

Winter birding activites include the PEI Christmas bird counts and here at the Macphail Woods there are owl walks. For more information, contact Gary Schneider.
